I remember being very excited. It was going to be my first day at the adventure camp. I quickly got ready and reached much before time. Many children, like me, were already present there. We had a good time playing before the organizers arrived.
It was a three day camp. The first day, as would the other days too, began with chanting mantras and yogic exercises. Later on, it was fun to learn glass painting. It was something I always wanted to learn but was not allowed to handle glass. At the end of the day we freaked out on soft drinks and pastries (an added bonus to a exciting day!!).
On the second day after yoga we had a quiz competition and a painting competition. I participated in both but could not win any prize. All the participants, anyway, received surprise gifts! So we all were very happy. We again enjoyed yummy eats before breaking up.
The third day was the most exciting of all. It was a day of outdoor activity. We got loaded into stallions, like little soldiers all charged up to take on whatever came our way! As it turned out, we actually went up to Tenga Ledge for trekking. It was just a perfect bright sunny day for trekking. We were all in high spirits, full of energy and enthusiasm. Even the smaller children were ready to walk. All through the trek we sang songs and played word games. All through the route, we were provided with water and lime juice.
As we reached the final point there was a surprise awaiting us. There under a huge tree a mat was laid out and blaring music was on inviting all the young trekkers to dance their hearts out. It was a perfect picnic. We ate lots of yummy snacks too.
In the end G.O.C uncle arrived. He distributed sweets to all of us and we all got photographs clicked with him. It was just all great fun and we just did not want to go back to our homes although we were all tired to our bones. He promised to get more such camps organized for us!! I’m going to remember this experience all my life.
